You will receive a letter of acceptance via email and you may begin the enrollment process. At this time, you may apply for financial assistance. All registration fees are non-refundable and are due upon enrollment.
Cathedral Of St. John Berchmans Catholic School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, or athletic and other school administered programs in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments and Section 4.03(a) and 4.03 of Revenue Procedure 75-50 (Diocese of Shreveport Non-Discriminatory Policies).
Cathedral of St. John Berchmans Catholic School complies with the regulations and policies of the Office of Catholic Schools in our Diocese. These regulations and policies are in the school office and in the Diocesan Handbook of Policies along with those that are subsequently determined by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
The State of Louisiana and Cathedral of St. John Berchmans Catholic School require that a child meet the following requirements for admission:
K3 (Pre-Kindergarten) – 3 years of age on or before September 30
K4 (Pre-Kindergarten) – 4 years of age on or before September 30
K5 (Kindergarten) – 5 years of age on or before September 30
1st Grade – 6 years of age on or before September 30
Prior to acceptance, the application must be complete, which includes required documentation submitted. The required documents will be reviewed to determine whether the program at St. John’s will meet the educational needs of the student. An interview with the student and parents may be in included in the admission process. At the end of the initial application period, administration determines which students to accept, based on the individual information of a prospective student and family, space availability, and in accordance with the Priority Level for Admissions:
Students currently enrolled.
Siblings of students currently enrolled.
Children from families who are registered, active members of the Cathedral Parish.
Children from families who are registered in other Catholic parishes. Special consideration will be given to Catholic school students moving into the area.
Children from non-affiliated Catholic families.
Children from families of other faiths. (Participation in both Catholic religious instruction and activities related to the Catholic character of the school is required.)
All new students are admitted on probation for one academic semester. A review of grades and conduct are made at the end of the semester. Parent will be notified if the student is to remain on probation, or asked to leave. The school reserves the right to refuse acceptance to a student whose behavior is not deemed acceptable or to ask a student to leave if behavior is not acceptable or if a parent does not support the policies and procedures as set forth in the handbook.
Enrollment information is available on the school website. Enrollment begins in January. The online process with TADS (our enrollment/tuition management company) must be submitted for each family each year, whether a current student or a new applicant. The non-refundable registration fee must be paid online. Registration for the following school year will not be accepted for any student who has an outstanding tuition balance. Open enrollment dates for new students are published in the church bulletin and on our school website. New students or siblings of current students applying for admission must complete an online application and upload the required documents. Registration is complete when all forms are turned in, fees have been paid, and the online tuition agreement is signed.

Request for Student Records Form with signed permission for administration to speak with previous school regarding academics and discipline
