A Holistic Education:
Mind, Body, and Soul.
In 1902, the Jesuit Fathers answered an invitation from the Bishop of Alexandria to establish a parish and school in Shreveport, Louisiana.
For 122 years St. John Berchmans Catholic School has offered an education of the whole student - mind, body, and soul.
In our current location since 1949, the heart of our school continues to be our Catholic identity, which is evident in the lessons taught; visible in the art and decorations on the walls; and practiced by all involved in the school. At St. John Berchmans, our faith and culture are infused into each area of the curriculum, the classrooms, and the other school activities. In this way, students can make the correlation between the Gospel and its values, the Church and Her teachings, and their lives. When arriving at our campus, you and your student will feel our supportive and encouraging community wrapped in our deeply honored Roman Catholic tradition. You’ll quickly experience and understand why we say, “Kindness is practiced here.”
